Geometric prints

I just can't get enough of designing geometric prints inspired by traditional Islamic art. I take a traditional element and structure and digitally compose it and then manipulate it and take elements from my interpretation of it to create something new and contemporary. I still have a long way to go with these complex patterns but I am being to see contemporary prints in the ones I am producing particularly in my choice of colours for them. End of Design Unit 1

By the end of the first design project of the year I think I am just beginning to combine the 'Islamic art' and 'Nature' themes successfully to create a range of design ideas for contemporary home interiors with a fusion of East and West. Here are some of the ideas I have been working on.
